Time Off is Good.

Today marks the beginning of the time where I don’t have to go to work for the better part of two weeks. I am excited. Don’t get me wrong,I love my job and the people I work with, but sometimes it’s nice to just get away, have a change in pace for a while, and just relax. I’ll be able to take some time to study for my finals,as well as make some plans for my continuing education. I’m not sure exactly what I’m going to do yet. There’s alot out there that I am capable of doing. I could go into business and do Management Information Systems,I could get more into computer science and become a developer,I could take a different direction and be an engineer,or a math major,or even a math minor with any of those things. I could major in economics or become a statistician. The doors are open for all of these things, but I don’t really want to close the door on any of them. so choosing which one I’m going to pursue is going to be the hardest decision this week. I think I’m going to end up seeing an advisor from the school to help me sort it all out and come up with a plan that will get me out of school pretty soon, hopefully without having to dig too deep into my work schedule.

In other news,Christmastime is almost here again, which means birthday for me too. Honestly,I’m fortunate enough at the moment that I don’t really need anything,so I’m having a hard time asking for stuff. We’re at the point in my house where I’ll just go shopping with my mom,I’ll point something out,and she’ll say “Don’t look”and pick it up to buy it for me. It kindof takes out the suprise, but at least I get something that I will want rather then an instant return.

For Christmas itself,we’ll be going out of town. We have set up this whole logistical nightmare in order for all of us to meet our obligations around the holidays. It’s insane the number of different moving parts that have to fit together for this trip to work out. And the worst part is that most of it depends on the timelyness of the airline industry, which is far from a garuntee. I’m still excited though. We’ll be visiting my grandmother on my mom’s side, and alot of my dad’s side of the family through the week we’ll be gone. I haven’t seen some of these people in at least 5 years,so I’m looking forward to it. Some of my cousins I will be meeting for the first time.

Later this year,I think my dad’s side of the family will be going on a cruise. That should be fun. I’m excited about being able to see all my family. Also, the cruise doesn’t sound too bad either. It’s been a while since I went on a cruise. Perhaps I’ll be able to scuba dive again as part of it. We’ll see. But that’s a long way down the road.

Thus I will bring an end to this rather long and overdue update. If I don’t post again, have a merry Christmas and a happy new year, and I wish blessings upon you and your families.
