Gas Prices In America Round 2

OK, so recently, someone contacted me about an article I wrote a couple years ago called Gas Prices in America, which outlined some information about why gas prices are so high.  I follow up today with this article to bring some of the thoughts I had up to date.

Many people in America, especially on the political left, will lash out at corporations when gas prices are high.  People will use terms like price gouging and make corporations out to be evil profit mongers.  In reality, there are 4 major factors that effect the price of gas.  Let’s take a look at what major influences there are.

Comming Soon…

I’ve been on a bit of a block this week, but there is more comming.  Some of the things I’m looking at include a few page ideas for the Impulse section, as well as a new, updated post on an old article.

For a quick update on what’s going on:  I voted yesterday, casting for Ron Paul in the Republican Primary.  On the democrats’ side, Hillary won both Texas and Ohio, which has me worried.  I know I haven’t really talked about my political opinion on the site much, but some of the things that Hillary has planned for the future scare me, as they should scare you if you are a capitalist.

Bottled Water

Tonight I was browsing the internet and came across a blog article that was promoting the ban of bottled water on a particular campus, and felt compelled to respond.  Here’s the text of my comment, in case he decides to delete it from his blog.  We’ll see what he does.  I encourage you to read the article before my response, as it will make more sense that way.

Edit: He allowed my comment to be heard, and we’ve started a dialog in the comments.  Feel free to chime in for either side, you won’t be censored unless you are obviously an idiot or over the top.

El Milagro Update

As most of you know, I went to El Salvador last year to drill a water well.  One of our team members had a chance to go back, and I thought I’d share it with you.  The album in the photo section now shows pictures from our trip.

Tatiana and Maybelline

Hello everyone,

We have just returned from another trip to El Salvador to drill a water well and we learned some interesting things regarding our trip there in September and how truly miraculous it was to get that well in after all.  Continue reading El Milagro Update

New Server and Photos

As of today, I should be fully moved over to my new web server.  Chances are, this is pretty transparent to you, but that’s good right?  However, it does have some definate tangible benefits.  As you can see, there’s another page at the top, called “Photos”.  I’ve now got the space to host a larger number . . . → Read More: New Server and Photos

Impulse

“Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of thy love.”

There is a theme in town, and a new page in the top navigation called “Impulse”.  There have been some recent and significant changes in my life, and part of that change is sharing it with everyone.  Impulse is where I want that change to mature.  It’s a story from me, yes, but I would like to open a dialog.  Every page has a comment block, and comments are open to anyone.  Feel free to check it out.  Continue reading Impulse

School Daze

I haven’t posted in a while again, but things have been rather busy.  School is in full swing and it has been going well, but it’s a little more work then I was expecting at first.  Things are going well with the apartment situation too, at least, we haven’t killed each other yet.  It’s definately not the easiest semester of my life, but when I look at the big picture, all that I have to sacrifice now to be able to coninue will be worth it in the long run.  I’m looking forward to being able to put a degree on my resume.  It’s not the most important thing ever, but it’s definately a priority in America today.
